Greetings one and all,

Now, I don't know about you chaps but this moving of the clocks has really put us out of sync! Heather can't get out of her basket in the morning as she feels she needs another hour and Leo has to do his best tapping on her face to wake her up. Mum says we'll soon get used to it.

Well, Macduff, RATS in the field. I bet they sneak into your garden in the night so you must do your best guarding. We had lots of rats here and Mum had to deal with them and then they finally packed their suitcases and moved off down the embankment. Any cats down your way? I think you could call on the fairies at the bottom of your garden and seek their assistance - perhaps they can blow some magic dust on them.

Our tree surgeon came on Saturday morning and finished off trimming the trees. The squirrels were probably pretty annoyed - we watched out of the window. He said that sometimes the squirrels will defend their tree when he goes up to trim one and be pretty feisty.

Thank goodness all the mud is starting to dry up - we all know Heather likes rolling in it but I can't stand muddy feet. Heather says I am a wimp.

All the news for now, Oliver and xx from Heather

Subject: Our News

Hallo everyone, Macduff calling!

Ooh, I am tired tonight. We have been helping Mum in the garden. Well, she says we hinder her, but I have also had to keep an eye on the gentleman two doors down. He is doing some work in the house. Mum says he is laying a floor and he has been using a saw outside. I have to supervise - they don't call me the `gaffer` for nothing! Then a young man arrived next door to cut the grass. Guess what? We know him - he lives in Rosewell. Turns out the lady next door is his granny. So Sis and I were delighted to play with him. Mum always said he was a lovely, well mannered young man.

We spent some time with Dad on Tuesday. Mum went to visit Aunty Liz, Mylo and Tasha. We had been hoping to go too but little Mylo wasn't too well, so we decided not to go, but we gave Mum some treats for him and Tasha. We had fun though playing with baby Max. Then Dad took us to meet Spice, a 12 week old black labrador. She is lovely but she was a bit too `full on` for me. However, Eilidh kept her occupied and I managed to have a wee nap.

Well, our other news is there have been RATS spotted in the lane at the back of the houses. We haven't spotted any yet but we'll keep looking. The 'rat man' is coming on Monday so the lane and the field will be out of bounds for a few days.

Mum is suffering with her feet at the moment. She has a verruca - hope we have spelt that correctly!

She tried to get an appointment with the chiropodist at the health centre. She was hopping mad (pardon the pun!) when she was told she couldn't get an appointment. Mum gave them a few choice words about having paid into the system for years. Anyway, she walked out of the surgery and she met a neighbour on the way home. The lady said to go into the chemist and register for the minor ailments service. Apparently you can't get treatment for something minor like a verruca for free, you have to go private, so Mum did that, got the appropriate prescription for treating her foot and if it doesn't heal within 3 months the pharmacist will refer her to a chiropodist.

Anyway folks, I can feel sleep creeping up on me.

Love and kisses to everybody, with special kisses and cuddles for Biskit and Willow. XXXXXXXXXXXX

Anne with her beloved dog Biskit

It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that our dear friend Anne passed away peacefully, in hospital, on the afternoon of Monday, 13th March 2017.

We offer our love, thoughts and prayers to Clive, Anne's family and her beloved animal friends, Biskit and Willow at this very sad time.

Anne will long be remembered for all her contributions to 'Scottiedoglovers' and for her friendship over the last 7 years or so.  Anne took pride in being able to contribute to the many animal birthday celebrations that you all help to produce and regularly emailed me to enquire about forthcoming events.

Anne was a kind and loving lady who loved all creatures great and small and I am so sorry that I’ll never have the chance to laugh and cry with her again.

Details of the funeral are not fully known but if you’d like more information, please email me marion@scottiedoglovers.co.uk

Rest in Peace Anne - We love and miss you

Hello all, Eilidh here!

Macduff is sleeping off his Sunday dinner. Chicken tonight - our compliments to the chef, it was 'ace', Mum.

Thank you so much, Heather, for all the information about fairies. You have put us at ease about them living in the garden. Mum reckons that they are already around and causing mischief by hiding things. And here we were thinking it was her age - sorry Mum!

Tommy, our pheasant, called in to see us this afternoon. I think he is very handsome.

The weather has been good today. It was a wee bit misty this morning, but then the sun came out and it was quite warm. Mum decided that it would be nice for us to have a run in the field at the back of the house this afternoon. It was so much fun, all that open space, I ran and ran for miles - well, it felt like miles with my short legs. I was chasing the birds - Mum reckons they were playing with me.

Anyway, I'm off now to dream about Tommy and chasing rabbits.

Love to all, especially the Mummies. XXXXXXXXXXXX

Subject: Our News

Hallo everybody, Heather here!

I'm so excited, Eilidh and MacDuff. Guess what? We had a cock pheasant in our garden today too! He sat on the fence for quite a while and Mum thinks he may be an early visitor for the bird seed on the ground feeder. She puts a large flat tray on the ground under the feeder to catch the seed falling down and then puts a wire cover over it so the birds can peck through it but Oliver and I can't get our noses through. Spoilsport!

We think 'hedgie' must be about as well as Oliver came in with a tick attached to him! Mum gave a great screech when she found it and rushed for the tick remover.

Now about the fairies - Mum has told us that they are mystical little people that sometimes play little tricks on us and hide things. They fly about and we can't see them but they scatter magic dust which means they are giving us good luck. They live in our woodland corner, in the carved wooden toadstools, and we have a new owl now on the wall who looks after them.

We also have a hazel tree which wards off witches and hobgoblins and no evil spirits can enter the garden. We haven't got a rowan tree which will also ward off evil spirits but Mum says the hazel will do the job.

Mum says the buddleia and lavender will be lovely in the garden and you'll get loads of bees and butterflies. We have large bumble bees flying around the spring bulbs and the Mahonia which smells really beautiful.

Enjoy your garden, Eilidh and MacDuff, and don't chase the fairies as they are good news.

Scott - I've been looking at your photos. You look very handsome in your blue birthday jacket. My jacket is blue too.

Heather - and Oliver sends barks to everybody

Subject: Our News

Hello everyone, Macduff here!

Well, we are settling well, having a ball digging in the garden and meeting and greeting all our new friends.

We have had quite a few visitors. Tasha and Milo`s mummy, Liz, came to see us. She couldn't bring our pals because they hate going on the bus, but maybe Dad will take us to see them sometime. Liz was actually brought up in Danderhall and her sister still lives here. She brought us treats - I love my Aunty Liz! Aunty Jean has been to see us too and Rena, one of our neighbours from Bonnyrigg, has been to visit as well.

The lettings officer from the Housing Association popped in yesterday to make sure everything was all right. Then a nice gentleman came to the door. He went out and measured the back garden. Mum is having a fence put up - nothing fancy, just a wire netting one. She wants to be able to look out of the kitchen window and enjoy her garden. The garden is raised and it is quite high and she is scared that Eilidh or I will take a tumble onto the stone path, so the fence will keep us safe.

Jojo, Eilidh and I would like to ask you all a question. What are fairies? Mum has decreed that part of the garden is going to be a fairy garden. Can we chase them or eat them? We think Mum is losing it a little! She has been doing some clearing out at the bottom of the garden in readiness for some plants arriving, hopefully tomorrow. She has ordered 2 lavender plants and 2 butterfly bushes. We want to attract bees and butterflies to our home.

We have had more visits from Mr and Mrs Pheasant. Mum has named them Tommy and Meg. See, she is losing it! I wonder if they will bring any babies to see us?

Well, time to explore the area out back and have a wee wander in the field.

Love and kisses to all, with special sloppy kisses for all you Mummies out there XXXXXXXXXXXX
